Edori Fertig is one of 16 talented locally-based artists exhibiting at London Bridge Hotel OPEN 3: Urban Nature, a public art exhibition which runs until the end of May 2020. This marks the third such exhibition in a series originally launched by London Bridge Hotel General Manager, Julio Marques in 2019, conceived in partnership with Team London Bridge and Southwark Council. All artworks are available for purchase.
About the artist and the works:
Born in New York, I have made South London my home for 34 years. I have exhibited widely in the UK and abroad and am an active member of South London Women Artists. I have an ongoing interest in nature studies executed in acrylics, inks and mono print.
The wildlife outside my garden studio serve as constant inspiration, particularly a resident fox that has made his home in the wilder area of the back yard.
He symbolises the execution of clever strategies for survival that are needed now more than ever in a planet under threat. The fox can see through deception and is a discerning presence in a world that is being dominated by artifice and falsification.
I received a BA in Illustration from Rhode Island School of Design, an MA in Art Education from Massachusetts College of Art and an MA in Printmaking from Camberwell College of Art.
